Dominick
DePaolo has been a freelance artist for over 40 years, an illustrator
for the U.S. Navy, and an art teacher at Prairie State College.
He teaches at the Long Grove Art School, which has recently
relocated from the retail district of Long Grove to a studio
location in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
Award-winning artist Dominick DePaolo's creations range from
the nostalgic drawings of his Classic Cowboy Heroes and B-Western
SideKicks to fine art paintings in oils and acrylics to colored
pencil portraits of people, pets and homes from photos. His
realistic style evokes a sense of America's most innocent days.
DePaolo's local area mural work includes everything from a
little something on a powder room wall to a huge, sweeping spiral
staircase foyer. Wonderful "kids" room specialties are also
a favorite.

Painting classes provide instant gratification for the novice
or someone with a little training because after EACH 2 hour
class, they leave with a finished canvas.
Classes include oil, acrylic, watercolor, drawing, and cartooning.
His teaching style is casual and informative, and his techniques,
including wet-on-wet oil painting, provide skills the student
can use immediately.
